2022 Changes to Ontario Probate Form 74G - Renunciation

2022 Changes to Ontario Probate Form 74G - Renunciation

Changes to Ontario Probate Form 74G

Form 74G Renunciation replaces:

  • Form 74.11 Renunciation of Right to a Certificate of Appointment of Estate Trustee (or Succeeding Estate Trustee) with a Will
  • Form 74.18 Renunciation of Prior Right to a Certificate of Appointment of Estate Trustee without a Will

As seen on the other new Ontario estate court forms effective January 1, 2022, the Renunciation replaces the two previous versions (with and without a Will).

As such, the persons renouncing must select the checkbox that is appropriate for their situation.

Additionally, in the case of an intestacy, the persons renouncing must indicate whether their right to apply for a Certificate of Appointment of Estate Trustee was in priority, or in equal right, to the applicant.

This and all other 2022 Ontario Probate form changes are now published and available in Estateably. Want to see how Estateably can save you and your practice hours by automating forms, precedents, and accounting? Book a 40-minute demo here or contact us to get started!
